Platform Partners
The ChemBioNet was initiated by biologists and chemists from academia who realized the need for interdisciplinary open access platforms to support research projects for systematic usage of small molecules to explore biological systems.
Four partner institutes co-financed a shared central compound collection for screening:
- Leibniz-Institut für Molekulare Pharmakologie (FMP)
- Max-Delbrück-Center for Molecular Medicine (MDC)
- Helmholtz-Centre for Infection Research (HZI)
- University of Konstanz
Compound Management of the Central ChemBioNet Compound collection:
The Screenig Unit of the FMP manages the central compound collection of the ChemBioNet. The collection currently comprises about 60,000 compounds stored in automated REMP stroage freezers. The library is continually expanding with new collections of synthetic and natural compounds donated by chemical research groups. Data integrity of the compounds is secured by automated software analysis with Pipeline Pilot, and quality control is provided with LC-MS analyses.
If you are interested in donating your compounds, please contact Dr. Edgar Specker, Compound Management (Medicinal Chemistry, FMP): specker@fmp-berlin.de.
